Countywide Borrowing Program Opens More Opportunities to Library Cardholders

Hamilton County, IN – Beginning January 2, 2010 library cardholders in Hamilton County will see an increase in their access to public library services without an increase in cost. The countywide borrowing program that debuts in January will allow Hamilton County residents who live in a library district to borrow from any library in the county using their “home” library card. For residents who currently purchase the Public Library Access Card (PLAC) to use other libraries in the county, the cost of library service will actually decrease. (The PLAC is still required to check out materials from public libraries outside Hamilton County.)

In addition to borrowing materials at any county library location, cardholders will be able to attend programs and utilize many of the services other libraries offer. They will also have the added convenience of being able to use the library closest to them.
