Job Title: Janitor
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Status: Part-time, Nonexempt (hourly)
Hours/Week: 20, occasionally more
Responsible for cleaning Cicero Library.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Vacuum and dust public and office areas.
2. Empty wastebaskets.
3. Clean restrooms.
4. Mop tiled floors.
5. Refill paper and soap dispensers.
6. Wash windows.
7. Treat wood surfaces.
8. Take trash out to dumpster.
9. Attend Library staff meetings.
10. Follow Library policies and procedures.
11. All other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Punctuality and good attendance are essential. Newly assigned employees are expected to be proficient at assigned tasks by the end of the first three months of service. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prefer knowledge and/or prior experience in the following areas: housekeeping; use of chemicals in cleaning; working with others.
DRIVERS LICENSE and TRANSPORTATION
A driver's license is not required for this position. Some sort of reliable means of getting to work on time is necessary.

20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6 am - 10 am. Plus, occasional additional hours during weekdays, evenings, and weekends for special events.
